ETHICS- OK OR NOT TO LIE?

According to Professor Gad Saad from Concordia university in Canada, deontological ethics is the position taken, that it is never ok to lie. Consequentialist ethics’ position is, it is ok to lie, to spare someone’s feelings or not to offend others.

There are foundational principles that are deontological by definition, such as freedom of speech, the right to inquiry and the presumption of innocence etc. There can be no but, or qualification when adopting this position, because then you turn the deontological position into a consequentialist position.

Western leaders, according to him, and some liberals I would add, apply consequentialist ethos into something that is deontological.

For instance, they will proclaim that one should not criticize a particular religion, because it may marginalize people of that religion. If you criticize Islam for instance, you are Islamophobic. But it only applies to that religion, since you can go ‘ape’ in ridiculing Mormons, Catholics or other Christian faiths.  That makes you a progressive intellectual and ensures you a professorship at an elite university.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AND ZOMBIES

Western leaders, and again, I would add, certain liberals, in their desire for acceptance and recognition, have succumbed to political correctness.

Saad submits that political correctness is akin to the Spider Wasp who stings a much bigger spider which ultimately render the spider zombified.

The wasp lays its eggs on the spider while it is still alive. When the offspring hatch, they immediately start eating the spider in vivo (alive).

THE SPIDER AND THE CRICKET

Once stung by the wasp of political correctness, the person slowly goes down the abyss of infinite lunacy.

Our default value should always be, to be kind, but not to rape the truth in service of protecting someone’s’ feelings.

For example, one cannot say he or she beliefs that transgender persons must be able to live with dignity and then murder the truth in pursuit of a noble goal, by adding ‘men can menstruate and bear children’.

A similar metaphorical analogy are crickets that are parasitized by the Hairworm, which eventually takes over the cricket’s brain.

The cricket cannot swim, but the Hairworms controls its mind, causing it to jump into water where the Hairworm immediately proceed to mate with other Hairworm since it can only procreate in water. The fate of the cricket is drowning.

The fate of some liberals will be that of the spider and the cricket.

The madness of wokeness, including identity politics, is the route to the infinite abyss of lunacy.
